What does a pay monthly website cost?
There are four plans. Each one says "from" because we size the price to your build on a call, then put it in writing before anything starts. Nothing to pay up front on any of them, and no VAT to add.

Every monthly plan includes Care Starter for the whole term: hosting, SSL, security, daily backups and small changes each month. The full breakdown is on the web design page.
How long is the contract?
We agree an initial term with you before anything starts, and it's written on your order form. After that it runs month to month, and either of us can end it with at least 30 days' written notice. It never rolls into another fixed term.
We don't publish one standard length, because it depends on the build. A one-page site and a booking system don't cost the same to make. Ask on the call and you'll get a number in writing.
Do I own the website?
Your domain and your content are yours the whole time. We register the domain in your name.
The website itself is licensed to you during the initial term. Once you've served that term and your payments are up to date, it's yours. Ask and we'll send you the files within 10 working days, and keep the site online for up to 30 days while you move the hosting.
Want it sooner? You can take ownership at any point by paying off what's left of the term in one go. Hosting, care and your included changes carry on to the end of the term as normal. It's all in Schedule 4 of our terms.
What happens if I want to leave?
After the initial term, give us at least 30 days' written notice and you leave with the site, the domain and your content. Fees run to the end of the notice period, and we don't refund months already paid.
If you leave before the term is up and don't pay it off, your licence to use the build ends and we can take it offline. Your domain and content still stay yours. We'd rather you read that here than found it in the small print.

Most businesses go monthly. We sell it that way because when you pay once, our incentive ends at handover. When you pay monthly, we only do well if your site keeps doing well.

Questions about paying monthly
Is there a setup fee?
No. Your first payment is your first month. Nothing up front on any monthly plan.
Is the price plus VAT?
No. We're not VAT-registered at the moment, so there's nothing to add on top.
Isn't renting a website a bad idea?
It can be, if you never get to own it. Ours becomes yours after the initial term, and your domain is in your name from day one. If you'd rather own it outright now, pay once from £595.
Can you move my existing site over?
Usually, yes. Send us the address and we'll tell you whether it's worth keeping the bones or starting again.
What if I need an online shop?
That's the Pro plan. Standard handles a simple catalogue. A proper shop with a cart, checkout and stock needs Pro.
How will I know it's working?
Every site we build counts its enquiries and taps to call, and you get a short report on the 1st of each month.
