Every price, on the page
The thing most people want before they ring is a number. Here they all are: the call-out, the hourly rate, fifteen jobs with a fixed price, the service, the certificate, and what an emergency costs at night. Nothing on this page has VAT to add.

Call-out is £85, with the first hour included
That first hour covers the diagnosis on nearly every job. After it, time is £58 an hour in half-hour steps, and we tell you when we're about to go into the next one. Parts are on top, priced before they're fitted, and you can say no.
Quotes for bigger work are free inside our area during the day. A survey for a new boiler or a bathroom takes about 40 minutes and you get a written price within 24 hours, more often the same evening.

Tick up to three jobs to see the band
One visit, one call-out. The band gives a little room for a part that turns out to be odd. If it comes in under the low figure, that's what you pay.

Out of hours
Mon to Fri 7am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm.
One engineer on call every evening.
Sunday and bank holiday daytime.
Water you can't stop, or no heat with someone vulnerable in the house.
How a quote works, and how you pay
Small jobs
Fixed price from the list, confirmed on the phone. The engineer does the job and takes a card payment on the day. You get the invoice and the guarantee by email before they've reached the next street.
Repairs
£85 call-out including the first hour. Once the fault is found you get a fixed price for the fix, including the part, and you say yes or no. Card on the day, or invoice for landlords and agents.
Boilers and bathrooms
A free survey, then a written quote listing everything included and anything that isn't. No deposit on a boiler swap; bathrooms are a third at the start, a third at first fix, the rest on the day you sign it off. Card or bank transfer.
Is there VAT on top?
No. Every figure on this site is the figure you pay. There's nothing to add.
What if the job takes longer than you thought?
Fixed-price jobs stay fixed; that's our risk. Hourly work is told to you at each half hour, and if we've misjudged a job badly we'll usually cap it rather than argue about it afterwards.
Do you charge to come and look?
Daytime quotes and surveys inside our area are free. If you want an engineer to diagnose a fault, that's the £85 call-out, because it's an hour of skilled time and it nearly always finds the answer.
Can I supply my own parts?
Yes for taps, showers, radiators and sanitaryware, and the list shows the labour-only price. For boiler parts we'd rather supply them so the guarantee covers the whole job.
