Treatments

Treatments, and what they cost.

Six areas of dentistry under one roof. Each one below says what happens at each visit, how long it takes and where the fee starts.

General dentistry & hygiene

Check-ups, hygiene and fillings.

A check-up finds problems while they’re small. A hygiene visit clears what a toothbrush can’t reach. Between them, most people need very little else.

Hygiene visit

From
£65 exam · £72 hygiene
  • A full look round, X-rays only if they’re needed, and photos of anything worth showing you on the screen.
  • A written plan with every line priced, emailed before you leave. Nothing is treated on the first day unless you’re in pain.
  • Hygiene with Harriet or Nisha: scale, polish, an airflow clean for tea and coffee staining, and brushing advice.
  • White fillings matched to the tooth, usually in one visit, from £120. Root canals from £395 and crowns from £695, priced before we start.

Cosmetic dentistry

Whitening, bonding and veneers.

Three treatments for healthy teeth you’d like to look different, in rising order of cost. We’ll say which one you need, and it’s often the cheapest.

Whitening
2 to 3 weeks at home
Bonding
1 visit, no drilling
From
£325 · £195 a tooth · £695 a tooth
  • Whitening. Custom trays made from a scan, gel worn at home for two to three weeks. Add an in-surgery boost for a faster start. £325, or £495 with the boost.
  • Composite bonding. Resin sculpted straight onto the tooth to fix chips, small gaps and worn edges, then polished. One visit, and in most cases no drilling. From £195 a tooth.
  • Porcelain veneers. For worn, discoloured or uneven front teeth where bonding won’t last. Two visits a fortnight apart, with a trial smile in between so you approve the shape first. From £695 a tooth.
  • Every cosmetic case starts with a free 20-minute consultation and photographs.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners.

Near-invisible removable trays, swapped every week or two, that move teeth a fraction at a time. Most adult cases finish in six to fourteen months.

Consultation
Free, 30 minutes
Treatment
6 to 14 months
From
£1,950 simple · £3,450 full
  • A digital scan of your teeth and a preview of the likely end result, before you spend anything.
  • Trays swapped at home on a schedule. A ten-minute check here every six to eight weeks to keep things on track.
  • Small tooth-coloured attachments on some teeth help the trays grip. They come off at the end.
  • Retainers are included, because teeth drift back without them. Whitening at the end is £150 with a case.

Implants

Implants.

A titanium root placed in the jaw under local anaesthetic, left to heal for about three months, then a crown that matches the teeth either side. Dr Nowak places every implant here himself.

Assessment
3D scan, £95
Start to finish
3 to 6 months
From
£2,450 with the crown
  • An assessment with a 3D scan to check there’s enough bone. The £95 comes off the fee if you go ahead.
  • Placement takes about an hour under local anaesthetic. Most people go to work the next day.
  • Three months of healing with a temporary tooth if it’s a front one, then the crown fitted over two short visits.
  • Not everyone needs an implant. A bridge or a partial denture from £595 is sometimes the better answer, and we’ll say so.

Children

Children.

The first visit is a ride in the chair, a count of the teeth and a sticker. Nothing is treated on a first visit.

Under fives
Free with a registered parent
Check-up
15 to 20 minutes
From
£28 under 16
  • Under-fives are seen free when a parent is a patient here. Bring them to your own check-up and they can watch first.
  • Fluoride varnish is included at every check-up. Fissure sealants, a thin coating that protects the grooves of new adult molars, are £32 a tooth.
  • Sports mouthguards made from a scan, in any colour they like, £95.
  • If a child needs a filling we book a separate, longer appointment and talk it through with them in their own words first.

Emergency

Emergency appointments.

Slots are held back every morning for people in pain, and released to the diary at 10am if they’re not needed. Ring before then and you’ll usually be seen the same day; after that, the next morning.

Same day if you ring by 10am
Fee
£85, X-ray included
  • Thirty minutes to find the cause, take an X-ray and get you out of pain. That’s the £85.
  • If the tooth needs more, a filling, a root canal or an extraction, you get the fee for that before we do it, and the choice to book it for another day.
  • You don’t need to be a patient here already. Bring a list of any medicines you take.
  • Outside our hours, ring NHS 111 for the out-of-hours dental service.
