Our team

Our team.

Ten of us. You’ll see the same dentist each time unless you ask not to, and the same hygienist.

Everyone

Dr Elena Marsh, a woman in her forties in dark red scrubs, smiling
Why I do thisBecause the person who hasn’t been for nine years walked in today, and that took more nerve than anything I’ll do.
Dr Elena Marsh
Principal dentist

Qualified in Sheffield and has run this practice since 2011. Does most of the cosmetic and aligner work, and the first appointment for anyone who says they’re nervous.

Because the person who hasn’t been for nine years walked in today, and that took more nerve than anything I’ll do.

Dr Marek Nowak, a man in glasses and a white clinical coat, smiling
Why I do thisAn implant gives somebody back a tooth they lost. They get to eat an apple again.
Dr Marek Nowak
Implant dentist

Places every implant in the building and nothing else, three days a week. Trained in Warsaw and Manchester, and teaches the placement course he once sat.

An implant gives somebody back a tooth they lost. They get to eat an apple again.

Dr Claire Whitlock, a woman with long fair hair in a green tunic, smiling
Why I do thisThe best bit of my week is a child leaving with a sticker who came in holding their mum’s hand very tightly.
Dr Claire Whitlock
Dentist

Joined in 2019 from a practice in Leicester. Root canals, crowns and the family side of the diary. Two children of her own, which explains the sticker drawer.

The best bit of my week is a child leaving with a sticker who came in holding their mum’s hand very tightly.

Dr Yusuf Rahman, a young man in a white tunic, smiling
Why I do thisBonding is sculpture on a very small scale, and the person gets to keep it. I’d do it for free, but please don’t tell Elena.
Dr Yusuf Rahman
Dentist

Qualified in Birmingham in 2020. Bonding, veneers and the emergency slots most mornings. Photographs every cosmetic case himself.

Bonding is sculpture on a very small scale, and the person gets to keep it. I’d do it for free, but please don’t tell Elena.

Harriet Cole, a woman in glasses and blue scrubs, smiling
Why I do thisHalf an hour with me every six months and most people need very little else.
Harriet Cole
Hygienist

Fourteen years a hygienist, nine of them here. Runs the airflow clinic and the gum programme, and is the reason the Complete plan exists.

Half an hour with me every six months and most people need very little else.

Nisha Patel, a young woman with long dark hair in royal blue scrubs, smiling
Why I do thisEveryone leaves my chair with a cleaner mouth than they came in with. It’s a small thing and I get to do it eight times a day.
Nisha Patel
Hygienist

Qualified in 2022 and joined straight from her training year. Works Thursday evenings and Saturdays.

Everyone leaves my chair with a cleaner mouth than they came in with. It’s a small thing and I get to do it eight times a day.

Dani Okoro, a woman with long dark hair in black scrubs, smiling
Why I do thisWhen someone squeezes my hand and then lets go halfway through, that’s the moment they stopped being scared. I get to see it every week.
Dani Okoro
Lead dental nurse

Runs the nursing team and the decontamination room. Sits with every nervous patient before treatment and stays until the end of it.

When someone squeezes my hand and then lets go halfway through, that’s the moment they stopped being scared. I get to see it every week.

Mei Lin, a young woman in teal scrubs with her hair tied back, smiling
Why I do thisImplant days are the calm ones. Everything laid out in order, everyone knowing what comes next. I like a room that runs like that.
Mei Lin
Dental nurse

Works alongside Dr Nowak on implant days and with Dr Whitlock the rest of the week. Studying for her radiography certificate.

Implant days are the calm ones. Everything laid out in order, everyone knowing what comes next. I like a room that runs like that.

Rosa Fenwick, a young woman in blue scrubs, smiling
Why I do thisI’m the first voice people hear when they’re in pain at ten past eight. I like being the reason it gets better from there.
Rosa Fenwick
Reception

The voice on the phone and the face at the desk. Knows the diary better than the software does, and where the nearest free parking is.

I’m the first voice people hear when they’re in pain at ten past eight. I like being the reason it gets better from there.

Omar Haddad, a young man in a white clinical coat, smiling
Why I do thisPeople will say “I can’t afford it” to me when they wouldn’t say it to the dentist. Then we work out what they can do.
Omar Haddad
Treatment coordinator

Goes through the plan, the fees and the finance with you after a consultation, without a dentist in the room.

People will say “I can’t afford it” to me when they wouldn’t say it to the dentist. Then we work out what they can do.

All our dentists, hygienists and nurses are registered with the General Dental Council, and the practice is inspected by the Care Quality Commission. Certificates are on the wall in reception.

The practice

Six surgeries on the ground floor.

A converted wharf building by the canal, ten minutes’ walk from the station. Every surgery has a window, and the whole place is step-free from the car park to the chair.

  • Free parking for twelve cars behind the building, and two disabled bays by the door.
  • Step-free throughout, with a wide door to every surgery and an accessible toilet.
  • A quiet room for anyone who needs a minute before or after treatment.
  • 3D scanner and digital X-rays in-house.
